DNR Forest Wildlife Research Biologist Jim Coffey told KXCV/KRNW that the peak of fawning season stretches through mid-June.

Coffey adds that does often leave fawns unattended in grassy areas and urges Iowans, if they find fawns that seem to be "abandoned", to leave them alone.
